🚨 By 2035, prediction markets are expected to derive more than half of their volume from finance rather than sports, according to Bernstein. The bank forecasts annual volume of $10 trillion by 2035, up from $410 billion projected for 2026, with an average annual growth rate of 70%. Analysts anticipate the emergence of new products such as KPI markets, which allow betting on corporate metrics—such as production, deliveries, or subscriber growth—rather than stock prices. Perpetual contracts, already common in crypto, would also expand to commodities and individual equities. This shift is already visible at @Kalshi, where crypto’s share of trading volume rose from under 5% in January to approximately 20% in August. At @Polymarket, sports accounted for 52% of volume in 2026 compared to 39% in 2025, while politics declined from 32% to 22%.
