🚨HUGE: Bitcoin's Lightning Network gets its FIRST quantum-proof defense. East Texas A&M University researchers built PQLN, which stops attackers from recording Lightning payments today and decrypting them once quantum computers arrive. The fix works without changing Bitcoin itself and runs alongside existing nodes across a network of 33,000 channels holding 3,750 BTC. The cost is 10x more bandwidth while NIST plans to ban elliptic-curve cryptography after 2035.
