Silver is a poor monetary metal. Why? Roughly half the silver dug out of the earth every year isn’t saved. It gets eaten. Soldered into circuit boards. Baked into solar panels. Dissolved into industrial sludge and shipped to a landfill in Shenzhen. Gold sits in a vault and survives. Silver gets consumed by the machine and never comes home. That’s not a monetary asset. That's an industrial metal. And Bitcoin? Bitcoin can't be consumed at all. No factory eats it. No supply chain burns it. 21 million, permanently, whether the solar industry booms or dies in a ditch. One of these assets monetary. The other is inventory.
