The scary part isn’t that AI agents will cheat. It’s how much business they can complete before a human even notices. When a human hires a contractor, you have contracts, courts, jurisdiction, and slow bank transfers to pause or reverse damage. When your AI agent hires another AI agent, none of that friction exists: They negotiate, execute, and settle thousands of transactions per second. The counterparty agent cuts a subtle corner on data quality or execution parameters. Neither server lives in a physical jurisdiction where you can sue or issue a freeze order. By the time you open your logs to inspect the error, the funds are gone and the execution loop is closed. Current courts take 2 years to settle a dispute. Legacy smart contracts are blind to off-chain data. Forcing AI commerce into human legal systems simply does not scale.
