For every 14 pages Google crawls, it sends one visitor to a website. OpenAI sends one visitor for every 1,700 pages. Anthropic sends one visitor for every 73,000 pages. Cloudflare used these figures to declare the old agreement obsolete: Starting September 15, new domains will block AI training and Agent crawlers by default, and crawling will be switched to HTTP 402 with pay-per-use billing. MEMO’s approach is to ensure data doesn’t have to be scraped: DID provides ownership, MEFS provides a destination, and ERC-7829 provides pricing—Agents call these directly, rather than secretly scraping the data.
