One detail in Quip’s latest technical stack caught my attention: the network is moving away from treating miners as peers. The v0.2 architecture separates the validator from the miner. The validator handles Substrate consensus and networking, while the miner connects outward through RPC to fetch chain state and submit proofs. That is a meaningful design change. In the older model, mining, peer communication and consensus were tightly coupled inside the node. In v0.2, the chain becomes the source of truth and the miner becomes a compute client attached to it. I find this separation more interesting than simply adding another mining backend. It gives @quipnetwork a cleaner boundary between blockchain consensus and the hardware actually solving the useful-work problem. The architecture is still evolving, but this is the kind of low-level change worth watching because it determines how the network can scale across different compute environments.
