ChatGPT has an enormous advantage when it comes to learning. there’s already a massive amount of information available online for it to learn from. if you ask it how to make coffee, there are probably millions of pages, recipes and conversations it can draw from. robots don’t have that luxury. you can put instructions for making coffee in front of a robot, but the words don’t tell it how the cup feels in its hand, how much pressure to use, or how to adjust when the cup moves. that knowledge comes from physical interaction. and there’s no internet equivalent filled with billions of examples of humans and robots performing everyday physical tasks. that gap is a big part of what @InvLambda is working to address. Axis is building the infrastructure for collecting physical action data that robots can actually learn from.
