#Morocco ranks among the countries with the highest legal and financial burdens on employers, placing 15th worldwide in the 2026 Global #EmployerBurden Index by Employ Borderless. The kingdom scored 75 out of 100 in the index, which compares 192 countries and territories based on the costs and legal requirements employers face when #hiring and ending employment. Morocco shares 15th place with Tajikistan. The index measures three main areas, including employer social-#security contributions, statutory severance pay and legal notice periods. A higher score means a heavier burden on employers. Moroccan employers contribute 20.1% of #wages to mandatory social-security schemes, according to the index. Statutory severance can equal 13.4 weeks of salary, while the legal notice period stands at 7.2 weeks, according to the report.
