Francis Fukuyama on Trump: Trump has been a supporter of the Soviets, then of the Russians, for decades. It’s a strange matter. No one truly understands why this happened, but it’s a consistent trait. I don’t for a moment believe he has become more sympathetic to Ukraine. He is frustrated because he believed the Russians would decisively defeat Ukraine, and he is dissatisfied that this hasn’t forced them into a settlement. But he hasn’t changed sides.
