"BITCOIN BOUNCES BACK TO $80K AS DXY DROPS ON SUSPECTED YEN INTERVENTION" Bitcoin surged more than 5% to reclaim $80,000, reaching around $81,000 as the US dollar weakened. The rally followed a sharp drop in USD/JPY to 155.4, fueling speculation of Bank of Japan intervention to support the yen. The weaker dollar pushed the US Dollar Index (DXY) down to 99, a move that has historically benefited Bitcoin. Markets are also pricing in a 98% chance of a 25-basis-point BOJ rate hike at its Sept. 18 meeting. Analysts remain divided, with some warning that yen intervention could trigger another carry-trade unwind, while others expect improved global liquidity. Meanwhile, Strategy (MSTR) shares jumped 8.6%, joining the broader crypto-linked rally.
