Remember this simple rule: if you held Bitcoin in a self-custody wallet before a blockchain fork, the corresponding coins on the new fork are already under the control of your current private keys. No third-party process is required to “claim,” “redeem,” or “unlock” anything. No legitimate fork requires you to visit a website and provide your credentials to receive coins you already own. Any message, email, direct message, or pop-up indicating a deadline or urging you to act immediately to “claim” or “redeem” something should be automatically treated as a red flag.
