Many years ago, in my quest to find the Holy Grail of stock investing, I devoured everything I came across on the blogosphere. It was around 2009 that I first heard references to two tools by @Blai5_: "Koncorde" and "Vigia." I spent months immersed in reading and rereading the entire archive on his old blog, "Bolsa y Datos." It captivated me forever. I still retain multiple workspaces of nearly everything he shared. One of them is the Trimed system, which I occasionally use to verify that my medium- and long-term investments confirm I’m betting on the right assets. AUTHOR’S NOTES: This system is based on crossovers of three exponential moving averages with periods of 4, 9, and 18. Buy and sell signals are generated when the 9-period MA crosses the 18-period MA. Position exits occur when the fast MA [4] crosses above the 9-period MA. Application: This system is particularly well-suited for use with stocks and CFDs on a weekly timeframe, though with adjustments, it can also be applied to other timeframes and assets characterized by long trends and short consolidations.
