A pair of dice makes a better Bitcoin seed than the chip inside your hardware wallet. Sounds absurd, until you see how it works. A seed needs 128 to 256 bits of randomness. A die gives about 2.6 bits per roll, so ~50 rolls for 12 words, ~99 for 24. Slow, but you see every bit of it happen. A chip makes the seed in a black box and asks you to trust it was random. You can't check. That's what broke on Coldcard. The RNG quietly went weak for years, seeds became guessable, and a weak seed looks exactly like a strong one. And Coldcard itself offers dice generation to remove the risk of a compromised RNG. The people who rolled dice are fine. Dice aren't primitive. They're the only randomness you can verify yourself.
