Someone told me it doesn't fix inflation. That it's worthless. A scam. Since 2009, one thing went from a fraction of a penny to tens of thousands of pounds. The pound lost 42.6% of its value over that same period, officially. Factor in the real hurdle rate, 11% a year just to stand still, and the loss is closer to 83%. Look at just the last 6 years. One went up around 550%. The other lost 21.5%, officially. Closer to 46.5% once you use the real number. Gold. Oil. Tech stocks. Property. Every currency on earth. All of them lost value against the one thing people still call worthless. Here's the part that matters. A currency that has to keep expanding just to survive needs you trapped inside it. Hold it and nothing else, and you need more of it every single year just to stand still. That's not saving. That's a treadmill that speeds up. The other path doesn't need you dependent on anything. It just sits there, fixed, while the system built on endless expansion keeps needing more from you. One is an exit. The other is the trap you're already standing in. That's not a disagreement anymore. That's a refusal to look.
