⚠️ Coldcard exploit remains active as BTC losses exceed $88M Galaxy Research reported that the Coldcard-related exploit is still ongoing, raising the observed amount drained to 1,367.05 bitcoin:native, worth approximately $88.6 million, across 4,585 affected addresses. The research firm said it identified a third wave of the attack and warned users who still hold funds in vulnerable Coldcard single-signature wallets to move their assets to secure locations immediately. According to Galaxy Research, the exploit remains active, and around 600 attacker-controlled addresses have already been reported to federal investigators and compliance firms. The updated figures expand previous estimates, which initially placed the losses at around 594 BTC and later increased to more than 1,082 BTC after additional transaction patterns were identified. The incident remains linked to a seed generation vulnerability affecting certain Coldcard devices, where insufficient entropy may have allowed private keys to be reconstructed. As investigations continue, the priority for affected users is migrating funds away from potentially compromised addresses.
