💸 How much did household monetary conditions improve? What factors explain these changes? These are the two main questions addressed by the new study from the Observatory of Social Debt Argentina (ODSA) at UCA. 📉 Prepared by sociologist Alejo Giannecchini and researcher Julieta Vera, under the coordination of Observatory director Agustín Salvia and with the collaboration of Fernanda Acuña, the study is titled “Changes in Indigence and Poverty by Income in Argentina 2022–2025: A Decomposition of Its Components Under Alternative Measurement Scenarios” and uses data from the Permanent Household Survey (EPH-INDEC) for the third quarter of each year between 2022 and 2025. ➖ It is true that poverty and indigence rates declined, but less than the official estimate suggests. Between 2022 and 2025, poverty decreased by 10.9 percentage points according to the official methodology, but only by 3.1 percentage points when adjustments are applied.
