Saw a news report: Crown Prince MbS of Saudi Arabia personally called Trump, urging the U.S. not to take military action against Iran. Many immediately assumed, "Oil-rich nations want to profit from war." But this assumption is backwards. The actual data shows the opposite: During recent Iranian blockades of the Strait of Hormuz, Saudi Arabia’s daily production dropped, forcing it to rely on the East-West pipeline operating at full capacity to reroute exports via the Red Sea—only making up about 7 million barrels per day. Recently, Houthi forces have also begun attacking Saudi vessels in the Red Sea, making this detour route no longer secure. The real logic behind MbS’s call: "Saudi Arabia cannot afford the physical losses of another round of strikes." The U.S. has strategic reserves and inventory buffers; Saudi Arabia has no geographic buffer. This call wasn’t about courtesy—it was a clear signal that all options now point to "no more fighting." Not investment advice. #DesertTeaHouse
