Why don’t we have covenants in Bitcoin?  Covenants would make vaults native, automated, and trust-minimized by enforcing rules on future transactions. Specifically, they enable a two-step withdrawal process, build a built-in time delay, and allow theft cancellation without needing complex pre-signed backup keys. This would have prevented today’s HWW disaster. Much needed right? Then why don’t we have it? Oh yeah plebs and podcasters were mob attacking the developer and Andy Back and Co were organizing “no technical consensus” rallies until the developer gave up and left. Then instead of working on the technicals, Andy proceeded to work on a Bitcoin treasury company.
