https://t.co/kz9nTjcSo7 On Friday, EIR and the International Peace Coalition held an extraordinary emergency panel discussion https://t.co/Uo81RSi4VK titled “Solving the Immigration Crisis Through Development,” in which more than a dozen experts, international leaders, and activists joined Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder of the Schiller Institute, to discuss the single most critical issue for all those seeking to prevent an escalation into a nuclear Third World War in the coming weeks: How can we bring about a fundamental transformation of the world that definitively ends the rule of the neocolonial, geopolitical world order? The urgency of the event was underscored further by the fact that on Thursday, 50,000 migrants reached the city of Ceuta, the Spanish enclave on the border with Morocco—resulting in dozens of deaths during the attempt—and triggering a flood of protests and mutual blame from all sides. This crisis makes it absolutely clear that whoever or whatever is behind this specific mass flow of refugees cannot be resolved unless the malevolent system that created this explosive condition is addressed. “To escape the clearly looming catastrophe, a fundamental political course change must occur,” Zepp-LaRouche told panel participants. “And it must occur exactly as Lyndon LaRouche stated in his June 2002 speech in São Paulo, Brazil: It must take place outside the rules of established thinking and outside the axioms that have led us into this crisis.” In the spirit of breaking with the axioms of the geopolitical world order—in which, as Father Harry Bury emphasized at the event, billionaires of Epstein’s caliber exploit the majority of humanity—Zepp-LaRouche made the bold declaration: “If we pull ourselves together, I see that we could eliminate hunger within six months. If all nations pooled their resources and efforts… we could achieve a mass mobilization to produce vast quantities of food; we could end this poverty within five years; we could provide decent living conditions for every human on this planet in… far less than a generation. And if we then achieve the next scientific breakthroughs—such as harnessing nuclear fusion as an energy source—we would have energy security for tens of thousands of years, if not longer, and one of the primary causes of war would vanish.” Regarding eliminating causes of war: Various panelists supported the Schiller Institute’s proposal for an expanded “Oasis Plan” for Southwest Asia as key to a viable solution for this crisis-ridden region. Zepp-LaRouche emphasized that such a program for win-win economic development “could once again make this region a hub for transport and exchange of culture and ideas between Asia, Africa, and Europe, as it was during the time of the ancient Silk Road.” Compare this creative, humane approach with the doomed “solution” proposed by Trump’s Peace Council for Gaza. On Thursday, Trump triumphantly announced that Hamas had agreed to a disarmament plan under which it and other armed militant groups in Gaza would surrender their weapons within an eight-month period, while Israel would be bound by its obligations under the 2025 ceasefire plan—a move immediately rejected by Israeli government representatives. There is no solution born from inaction and apathy. The only destination toward which the inertia of this degenerate ruling system will lead us is nuclear war. “If everyone knew how close we are to World War III, millions and billions of people would take to the streets to stop it,” Zepp-LaRouche concluded. “I believe we need a mass mobilization, because what we are experiencing now is a test of whether humanity has the moral strength to survive—or not. I am optimistic—and I am an eternal optimist regarding the potential of the human species—but to be optimistic also means that this potential must be realized, because potential is only potential and not yet reality… If you have even a spark of humanity within you, help us and help yourself now. It is the struggle of civilization.”
