After logging in with email, is the wallet still mine? On July 29, @velvet_capital opened Gasless transactions on Robinhood Chain for embedded wallets accessed via email or X login. I believe VelvetX did not take ownership of the wallet—it simply moved it from the first lesson to behind the scenes. Previously, to access on-chain products, users had to download a wallet, record their mnemonic phrase, find the network, and prepare Gas—before even seeing the product, half their attention was already consumed by tools. Now, users simply log in, and a non-custodial wallet is automatically generated in the background; Gas for supported use cases is handled by the product itself. Email login is merely an entry point; assets still originate from the user’s wallet, and the team cannot access them directly. Key actions still require the user’s explicit authorization and signature. The account gets you in; the wallet ensures your assets remain yours. What delighted me most after reviewing this official flow is that users can now first focus on understanding what they want to do, and gradually learn how wallets work. VelvetX is more like a trading room where complex equipment is hidden behind the walls—clean desktop, control never hidden. Gasless only applies to embedded wallets and supported use cases; external wallets still require users to provide their own Gas. Processes for recovery, device switching, and key export still need clearer public documentation. Before using any service now, I only confirm whether I’m using an embedded wallet or an external wallet—and what exactly I’m authorizing when signing.
