What does Bitcoin volatility mean? Volatility is the sound of an argument. When the world agrees on what something is worth, the price sits still. Nice and boring. When the world does not agree, when half the participants think it's a Ponzi and the other half think it's the reserve asset of the 21st century, the price thrashes. Volatility is life. That thrashing isn't malfunction. It's the free market working correctly. Bitcoin is price discovery, as the world wakes up to this new technology and begins pricing it loudly.
