Maritime data is everywhere. The harder question is whether we can trust it. That’s what made @EthraShip interesting to me. The focus is not just gathering more vessel information, but creating a stronger foundation around verification. Traditional AIS systems rely heavily on transmitted signals being honest, yet spoofing, inaccurate locations, and manipulated data have become growing concerns. More analytics won’t fix unreliable inputs. The real improvement comes from making the data itself more trustworthy. If maritime information can be verified at the source, it becomes far more valuable for logistics, operations, and decision-making. A practical problem. A meaningful direction.
