BREAKING: More than $38M worth of Bitcoin (594.48 BTC) has reportedly been stolen from around 500 wallets. Following the incident, Coldcard has issued a security advisory urging some users to move their funds after identifying a vulnerability affecting certain devices. The advisory applies to seeds generated on Mk3 wallets running firmware 4.0.1 and later, with some older Mk4, Mk5 and Q firmware versions also under review. While researchers are investigating whether the theft is connected to the vulnerability, no direct link has been confirmed at this stage. If you use an affected Coldcard device, review the latest security guidance and consider whether your wallet may be impacted. This is a reminder that hardware wallet security depends not only on the device itself, but also on how private keys are generated.
