CLARITY Act Vote Still On Track Before August Recess Despite Democratic Opposition Senator Cynthia Lummis (@SenLummis) said the CLARITY Act is still scheduled for a Senate vote before the August recess. Speaking on the Crypto in America podcast on Thursday, Lummis noted lawmakers have a packed schedule but said there is still a chance the bill fits in. The bill previously passed the Senate Banking Committee in May with a 15-9 vote. Lummis said the biggest obstacle to passing the CLARITY Act is Democrats refusing to commit to a vote. She noted Democrats had eleven months to work intensely on the bill alongside Republicans. According to Lummis, the legislation has nearly doubled in length since talks began last Labor Day. She added most new provisions were added specifically at the request of Democratic lawmakers.
