🇨🇦 Crypto is gradually becoming “normal” in Canada. In just three years, the percentage of Canadians holding crypto has risen from 10% to 25%. According to a survey by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) of over 2,300 adults, one in four Canadians now own digital assets, while 59% say they have heard of or have some understanding of crypto. This indicates that access to crypto is becoming increasingly widespread, no longer limited to a small niche group as it once was. The OSC also noted that monitoring this trend will help regulators develop more effective policies that enhance investor protection while promoting a transparent and sustainable market. Conversely, Canada continues to tighten regulation in this space. The government is currently considering proposals such as banning the use of crypto for political donations and eliminating crypto ATMs, due to concerns over fraudulent activities. User adoption is surging, but the regulatory framework is becoming increasingly stringent. Do you think this will drive the market toward more sustainable growth, or will it undermine crypto’s inherent freedom?
