Why Do Some Hyped Projects Survive and Others Do Not - Post Mint.? Utility is what keeps most people around. When people invest in a project but don't see returns. Or any innovative system that gives value back over time, interest naturally starts to fade. The reality is that not everyone is an art collector. Art can create excitement at first, but for many people, that excitement eventually wears off. At some point, the conversation shifts from "This is fun" to "What do I get from being here?" That's why long-term projects need more than great artwork... they need reasons for people to stay engaged. Just a way to give back to the holders is enough, not just trading JPEGs. Art is primary, but it's not enough for long term survival.
