Where are we in the Wyckoff Accumulation? - July 22nd As of today we are in Phase C, waiting for the LPS to confirm in Phase D. Phase C is set to transition to D Aug 1st. LPS stands for Last Point of Support in the Wyckoff Method. In Accumulation Schematic #1 (the classic version with a clear "Spring" in Phase C), the LPS in Phase D is a key bullish confirmation event. Where It Fits in Schematic #1 Here’s the typical flow in Accumulation Schematic #1: Phase A: Stopping the downtrend (PS, SC, AR, ST). Phase B: Building the cause (sideways trading range). Phase C: Testing — usually a Spring (fake breakdown below support to shake out weak hands), followed by a recovery. Phase D: Transition to strength, this is where the LPS appears. Phase E: Markup (sustained uptrend). What Is the LPS in Phase D? The LPS is a pullback or reaction that occurs after the first strong Sign of Strength (SOS). The SOS is a powerful rally on wide spreads (big price bars) and increasing volume that breaks the upper resistance of the trading range (often called "Jumping Across the Creek"). After the SOS, price naturally pulls back. The LPS is the low of that pullback, the final test of support before the real markup begins. Key characteristics of a valid LPS: It occurs on narrow spreads (smaller price bars) and diminished volume → shows supply is exhausted. It holds at or near the broken resistance (now turned support) often forming a higher low than previous supports. It can be labeled as BU/LPS (Back Up to the Edge of the Creek / Last Point of Support) in diagrams. There can be multiple LPS points in Phase D as the price stair-steps higher. Why Is the LPS Important? It confirms that demand is in control, buyers are defending higher levels aggressively. It provides one of the lowest-risk, high-probability entry points for long positions (or adding to them). Price should then resume upward with another SOS, eventually breaking out decisively into Phase E (markup). Schematic #1 vs Schematic #2 Schematic #1 (with Spring): The LPS in Phase D is typically higher and comes after the Spring + initial SOS. Schematic #2 (no Spring): The LPS may appear earlier or differently. In both cases, Phase D shows demand clearly dominating supply, with higher highs and higher lows starting to form.
