⚠️ CLARITY Act — be cautious regarding the ethics provision The ethics section published yesterday is NOT final. It is still under negotiation and very likely to change before any vote. Why: Democrats do not accept that only the Department of Justice should enforce these rules. They demand that state attorneys general also be included. Without this adjustment, they will not support it. Here’s what’s critical: time is running out. The Senate will go into recess around August 7. If an agreement isn’t reached and a vote isn’t scheduled before that date, the entire proposal will stall until fall—and in an election year, that could mean much longer. In short: there is no finalized ethics text or scheduled vote. What exists is a draft still being contested against a very tight deadline. We’ll keep you informed with facts, not hype.
