Twenty One Capital has appointed Raphael Zagury as its new CEO after Jack Mallers stepped down to focus on the next growth phase of Strike, a Bitcoin-focused platform he founded. Meanwhile, Strike has opted out of the proposed merger with Twenty One and Elektron Energy to remain as a standalone business. Zagury, founder of Elektron Energy, brings to the table his deep financial background from Wall Street, including his experience as a builder and coder in the tech realm. He also served as an independent director on Twenty One’s Board and interim chair of its Audit Committee. Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether and member of Twenty One’s Board, thanked Mallers for his contributions to the company, especially in guiding it through its successful listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in December last year. Twenty One holds one of the largest Bitcoin treasuries among public companies, with 43,514 $BTC. Twenty One and Elektron Energy's merger remains in preliminary discussions.
