I remember that when I started elementary school, the three major household appliances (TVs, refrigerators, and washing machines) had just begun to become popular. Our generation never saw clothes dryers as children, so we grew up with the habit that “underwear must be hand-washed to be hygienic.” Even after moving to the U.S., I kept this habit for a long time. Once, while traveling on a business trip with an American colleague, he came to my room and saw my hand-washed underwear—looking completely puzzled. Only after his explanation did I realize that washing underwear in a machine and then drying it in a dryer is actually more hygienic than hand-washing. Since then, I’ve eliminated one daily chore: washing my underwear by hand. Through this experience of hand-washing underwear, I realized: Many habits we form in childhood aren’t necessarily correct— in fact, many of our “experiences” may be wrong. Yet these “experiences” have become automated programs in our minds— essentially the “optimal solutions” of their time, shaped by technological limitations. So humanity is certainly becoming smarter and better with each generation, and technology will continue to innovate and evolve. We are now at the very beginning of the greatest AI wave in history— a future that is both predictable and certain. There’s no need to worry about short-term stock market fluctuations. AI has at least 15 more years of sustained growth ahead.
