One of the greatest things Bitcoin ever did wasn't creating digital money. It was refusing to tell the world what it was worth. Think about that for a second. Bitcoin didn't launch with a target price. It didn't have a foundation defending its market value every time the chart turned red. It didn't have a treasury buying back Bitcoin to reassure investors. It didn't have anyone promising that the price would only go up. Instead, Bitcoin did something almost unheard of: it stepped into the world and allowed complete strangers to argue over its value. Some thought it was worthless. Some thought it was the future of money. Some bought. Some sold. Some laughed. Some held. Some became wealthy. Some lost conviction. Every one of those decisions became part of Bitcoin's price. That's what a free market looks like-not agreement, not certainty, not stability, but millions of independent decisions colliding every second until a price naturally emerges. That is price discovery, and whether you like the price or not, it's honest. Today, many crypto projects take a different path. When prices fall, foundations step in. Treasuries buy back tokens. Large allocations remain under centralized control. Market makers are hired to smooth volatility. Token unlock schedules are carefully managed. Liquidity is strategically deployed. None of these things are automatically wrong. Young ecosystems sometimes need support to grow. However, there is an important difference between supporting a network and supporting a price. The market eventually knows the difference because value cannot be manufactured forever; it has to be earned. This is one of the reasons Bitcoin has remained relevant for over a decade-not because its price only went up. It didn't. Bitcoin has crashed. Bitcoin has terrified its holders. Bitcoin has humbled the smartest investors in the world. Yet every recovery, every rally, and every correction came from one place: the market. Not because someone decided Bitcoin deserved a higher price, but because millions of people independently concluded it did. That's a very different kind of strength. Over the last few years, I've found myself paying attention to @Coredao_Org for a similar reason. Not because the market has always rewarded it-it hasn't. Not because every decision has been perfect-no ecosystem is. But because, from the beginning, Core has largely allowed the market to decide what it is worth. The Satoshi app airdrop wasn't a promise of guaranteed wealth. Mainnet wasn't accompanied by endless attempts to defend the chart. The network has had to earn conviction the same way Bitcoin did: through builders, users, products, and time. Time is a ruthless judge, but it is also the fairest one. I've come to realize something. The market punishes two kinds of people: those who believe too little and those who believe too much. Extreme pessimism makes people sell great assets too early, while extreme optimism makes people believe nothing can ever go wrong. The market has no mercy for either. It rewards conviction-not blind faith, not blind fear, but conviction built through understanding. That is why I believe every blockchain should strive to follow one of Bitcoin's greatest lessons. Not necessarily its code. Not necessarily its architecture. But its philosophy. Trust the market. Build something useful. Let people decide what it's worth. Because when a project spends more time defending its price than improving its product, it is usually fighting the wrong battle. Products create value. Markets recognize value. Price eventually follows. I don't know where Core will be ten years from now. Nobody does. The market will decide that, just as it decided Bitcoin's value. And honestly, I wouldn't want it any other way. Because if your conviction only survives when someone is holding the price up, then it wasn't conviction to begin with. It was dependence. The free market is brutal. It doesn't reward narratives forever. It doesn't care about promises. It doesn't care about emotions. It simply asks one question, over and over again: "What is this truly worth?" Sooner or later, every project has to answer. 🔶
