Michael, BIP-110 needs 55% miner signaling. Foundry USA and AntPool control close to half of Bitcoin’s hashrate. So technically, your first call does not need to be to “the Bitcoin community.” It needs to be to two mining pool operators. Nodes validate the rules, but mining pools build a large share of the blocks and coordinate signaling. The question is not only whether BIP-110 is dangerous. The real question is why a supposedly decentralized network depends so heavily on the decisions of two or three entities. Am I wrong, @saylor ?
