BTCfi infrastructure updates are outpacing new product launches. Here are the biggest ecosystem updates from July ↓ → @BitGo added support for @Stacks sBTC This gives ~1.2M users a direct route between BTC and Stacks inside their existing custody setup, just before self-custodial Bitcoin Staking goes live. → @TRowePrice_DA launched TKNZ (an active crypto ETF) This is a sign big institutions are moving from holding BTC to actively allocating across crypto. → @Strike launched BTC-backed loans without automatic liquidations Borrowers can keep the loan open through price drops as long as they continue making payments. → @SolvProtocol expanded BTCFi in Asia Metaplanet is exploring BTC-backed credit, while banks are starting to test similar products. → Bitcoin developers debated BIP-110 and BIP-361 One focuses on limiting unwanted data on Bitcoin. The other looks at protecting the network from future quantum attacks. I’d argue that BitGo’s support for sBTC is the biggest update here, since custody access makes it much easier to put idle BTC to work. Right now, access matters more than novelty in BTCfi.
