Russia is expected to finalize its cryptocurrency bill tomorrow, allowing the use of crypto for cross-border payments to support international trade amid Western sanctions. However, the bill does not legalize crypto payments within the country. The ruble remains Russia’s official medium of payment. Essentially, this is a move to leverage crypto for international payments, not to adopt Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies as domestic currency.
