NEW: BITCOIN'S QUANTUM PROTECTION PROPOSAL COULD FREEZE VULNERABLE BTC 👀 A new draft proposal, BIP-361, would phase out legacy Bitcoin signatures over a five-year transition period to protect the network from future quantum attacks. Under the proposal, $BTC that isn't migrated to quantum-resistant addresses before the deadline would become unspendable rather than remain vulnerable to theft. That means dormant wallets, including Satoshi Nakamoto's estimated 1 million $BTC, could effectively be frozen if they are never migrated. BIP-361 is still a draft and would require broad community consensus before any activation.
