Even in a downtrend, when the price moves away from the 5-day or 10-day MA, it often reverses and returns to the 5-day or 10-day MA before resuming its decline. So if you short at the absolute bottom, you’ll get crushed by a bounce. I think next week it’ll likely reverse back up toward the 5–10 MA.
