It’s the people who know how to ask questions. ⸻ When I first started using AI, I always assumed: the more powerful the model, the better the answer. But later I realized: the same AI, used by different people, can produce wildly different results. Someone asks: “Help me write an article.” Someone else asks: “If you were an investor managing a $10 billion fund, how would you analyze this company?” The answers are on completely different levels. Slowly, I came to understand: AI’s most important capability isn’t answering questions— it’s amplifying them. The more specific your question, the greater the value AI delivers. In the past, we always thought: the person who knows the answer is the most impressive. But in the AI era, I’m increasingly convinced: the real experts are those who know how to ask the right questions. Because answers are becoming easier to obtain. What’s truly scarce now: knowing what to ask, how deeply to ask it, and how to judge whether AI’s response is reliable. So now, I collect fewer prompts. Instead, I’m training myself: how to ask better questions. Because AI can generate a hundred answers for you— but it won’t decide which question is worth asking in the first place. The gap between people in the future may not be who uses GPT and who uses Claude— but who can consistently ask questions no one else thinks of. What truly changes the future is never the answer.
