Holding dry powder isn't a strategy. A deployment schedule is. I'm carrying more cash than at any point since 2022, and a 9% bounce off the July 1 low is exactly when it gets tempting to do something dumb with it. Blow it all in because the train's leaving. Or freeze because the real low must still be coming. So the schedule decides instead of me: The weekly DCA runs no matter what. It's been buying all through this, including July 1 at the cheapest score print of the cycle. The dry powder sits in tranches, each tied to a score band, written down months ago. Score enters a band, that tranche deploys. If it never gets there, the DCA already has me positioned for the turn. Second-guessing is the tax you pay for not writing things down. I paid it for years. Never again. This is the exact flow Plan Builder walks you through. Free account, link in bio.
