Assuming BIP-110 does not have widespread support come August and has too little hashrate resulting in a permanent chain split, I have a new proposal for users who want to use Bitcoin for data storage...just go use the BIP-110 chain after it forks off. Simply create new meta protocols to stitch together smaller chunks of data still allowed by their ruleset and use the free airdrop tokens you just received on their chain to pay the fees. You can use all the BIP-110 nodes for "permanent" data storage for as long as they keep them going (which admittedly might not be that long). Seems like a win-win if they do keep them running though.
