Cyber Companion? First Full-Size Hyper-Realistic Humanoid Robot Launches Pre-Orders: Male Version 183cm Tall, Female Version 168cm Tall, 2–4 Hours Battery Life, Designed for Emotional Companionship, Deposit of RMB 3,000! On June 2, UBTech, the “first listed humanoid robot company,” announced under its consumer-grade humanoid robot brand, UWorld, that the world’s first full-size hyper-realistic humanoid robot has launched pre-orders on JD.com. As of this report, over 700 units have been reserved. This time, they’re serious. Product details reveal two versions available: male and female. Male version: 183cm tall, 42kg weight, 88 degrees of freedom, supports Wi-Fi connectivity and charging, 2–4 hours battery life, no support for secondary development. Female version: 168cm tall, 35.2kg weight, 88 degrees of freedom, supports Wi-Fi connectivity and charging, 2–4 hours battery life, no support for secondary development. Pre-order information indicates the campaign will run until July 15. Customers can secure their place in the first batch by paying a RMB 3,000 deposit, fully refundable before July 15. Additionally, this robot is available only to adults. Just over ten days ago, Songyan Power—famous for creating the lifelike Cai Ming robot that went viral during this year’s Spring Festival Gala—announced the global debut of the first humanoid robot supporting eye contact interaction, also targeting the companionship market. “Rather than striving for perfect human likeness, we focus on whether the resemblance feels comfortable,” said a representative from the Xiaoyue R&D team at Songyan Power. “We hope Xiaoyue becomes a warm, long-term intelligent companion.” The company has appeared on the Spring Festival Gala multiple times. In 2025, UBTech’s humanoid robot revenue neared that of Unitree. UBTech is a veteran in the humanoid robot sector. Back in 2016, 540 UBTech robots danced in unison on the Spring Festival Gala, stunning audiences and triggering multiple rounds of funding. Since then, UBTech has appeared on the gala multiple times. Latest annual reports show that in 2025, UBTech achieved revenue of RMB 2.001 billion, up 53.3% year-over-year; gross profit of RMB 754 million, up 101.6%; gross margin of 37.7%, up 9 percentage points; net loss of RMB 790 million, narrowed by 31.9% year-over-year. The most significant change in UBTech’s 2025 financials was its revenue structure: humanoid robot sales now account for 40% of total revenue and have become the company’s largest revenue source, with over 1,000 units sold annually. Unlike many humanoid robots targeting commercial or educational markets, UBTech’s humanoid robots carry an average price of approximately RMB 760,000 per unit—significantly higher than Unitree Technology’s recently disclosed IPO price. Under this pricing model, UBTech’s humanoid robot division generated RMB 821 million in revenue in 2025—a more than 2,000% increase—nearly matching Unitree’s total. Additionally, over the past three years, UBTech has consistently invested around RMB 500 million annually in R&D—a factor that has influenced its path to profitability. “Continuous R&D investment remains essential for the industry because humanoid robotics is still in its early stages. To truly penetrate countless industries and households, far more mature technology is required,” said an industry insider. Currently, humanoid robots consist of three core components: brain, cerebellum, and body—ongoing R&D focuses primarily on these areas. For future application scenarios, UBTech primarily targets industrial manufacturing, commercial services, and home companionship. While it pioneered industrial applications in the past, this year it may begin exploring commercial applications. On June 2, UBTech’s stock rose nearly 7%, dipped slightly on June 3, then rose again on June 4—peaking over 3% intraday before retreating to a 0.45% gain as of this report. Total market cap stands at HK$56.331 billion. Notably, UBTech’s stock rose approximately 130% in 2025 but has remained volatile this year, down over 11% since the start of the year. #AI #AIAgent
