Saw a post by a CEO of a startup who claimed AI is now more expensive than employees. Interesting headline. But I think it misses the bigger question. The goal of AI was never to be cheaper than a human. The goal is to create more output per dollar spent. A $100k/month AI bill could be a terrible investment. Or it could enable a 5-person team to operate like a 50-person company. The same technology can be either wasteful or transformational depending on how it’s deployed. The companies winning with AI aren’t replacing people. They’re combining people + AI to achieve results that neither could accomplish alone. What do you think? Is AI primarily a cost-saving tool, a productivity multiplier, or something else entirely?
