What point does “decentralized” stop meaning decentralized and start meaning “a small group can override the system when it’s convenient”? Because on one hand, the technical response here is impressive which is the ideal outcome in an exploit situation. But on the other hand, you’ve got a Security Council making emergency decisions, identifying offenders with off-chain input and effectively re-routing assets outside the original holders control. So what exactly is the governance model here supposed to represent in practice? Is this “decentralization with emergency brakes” or just a highly efficient centralized response layer wrapped in decentralized branding?
