Google's custom silicon play is about inference margin, not just throughput. Building your own chips only works if you own the full stack. training, serving, fine-tuning. Most AI companies are renting compute. Google and Meta are the only ones with the capital and integration to make this stick. That's a 5-year moat if they ship it right.
