A candle can span a wide range but close near its open—noisy, indecisive. Another may cover a smaller range but close at its extreme—clean, decisive. The real question isn’t how far the candle moved, but how much of that movement was converted into net directional progress. I’ve built a system to measure this mathematically: the Efficiency Module. How it works The system calculates the total potential movement of each candle (volatility), then measures what portion was converted into net directional movement. The result is displayed as a percentage. But a single percentage isn’t enough. The system evaluates across three dimensions: 1. Adaptive Percentile Rank — Current performance is automatically compared to recent history. No fixed thresholds. Self-adjusts for each instrument and time frame. 2.
