China's robot takeover is complete. In 2011, China installed ~50,000 industrial robots per year, same as Japan and the US. By 2024, China hit 295,000 installs. That's nearly 9X growth in 13 years. Meanwhile, the rest of the top 5 COMBINED is Just 137,000. China is now installing MORE than Japan, the US, South Korea, and Germany… PUT TOGETHER. Let’s explain the root cause: In 2015, China launched "Made in China 2025," a national strategy to dominate advanced manufacturing. Robot installations exploded from ~68K in 2015 to 155K by 2017. Then again to 268K by 2021. Even after a brief dip in 2019–2020, China didn't slow down. Today, China accounts for roughly 68% of ALL new industrial robots installed across the top 5 economies. The AI bot manufacturing gap is widening. Source: International Federation of Robotics (IFR), 2025 | 2026 AI Index Report
