Please read carefully, one of the most important concepts to truly understand Bitcoin. This animation reveals the hidden mathematical structure of Bitcoin's price dynamics. The left panel shows Bitcoin's price history (colored dots) compared to the power law model (black dashed line). The coloring shows deviation from this reference, but this is not the main point. The right panel transforms this price data into "phase space," a mathematical tool physicists use to study dynamical systems. The horizontal axis (n) measures the local power law exponent at each moment. The vertical axis (dn/dt) measures how fast that exponent is changing. As the animation progresses, you see the phase portrait emerge point by point. Instead of scattered chaos, a clear spiral pattern appears, orbiting around a central attractor at n equals 5.8. This is the signature of a limit cycle in a stable dynamical system. The crucial insight is what this attractor means. The system naturally pulls toward n equals 5.8 and stays near this value over time. This stability is what matters, not whether price is temporarily above or below any reference line. A stable n of 5.8 means Bitcoin grows with a consistent power law, climbing steadily through many orders of magnitude over the years. The system follows a precise mathematical growth pattern, like a river following its course to the sea. There are meanders and eddies along the way, but the overall path is determined by the underlying dynamics. People obsess over "where we are in the cycle," asking whether Bitcoin is overvalued or undervalued today. This misses the point entirely. What matters is not our position on the curvy path but the fact that there is a stable path at all. The four year cycles are just the natural oscillations of the system as it follows its exponential trajectory. Focus on the journey, not the position. The attractor tells us Bitcoin has fundamental growth dynamics that persist across all timescales.
