China's Q3 GDP came in at 4.5%, a touch better than the 4.4% expected and up from 4.3% last quarter. I think that's a decent little backdrop going into Monday, but I wouldn't call it a real China comeback yet. Most of the lift came from exports, especially tech goods. Retail sales only grew 1.1% in September, and fixed asset investment is down 7.2% so far this year, so to me it reads more like steady than strong. It's mildly positive for $FXI and $BABA, and it doesn't hurt with US futures already a bit green. I'm watching how Hong Kong trades tonight and whether Beijing feels less pressure to add stimulus now.
