this is a much more interesting privacy primitive than private payments. @VitalikButerin anonymous posting is the surface-level demo. the deeper idea is that users can stay private while still being subject to public rules: eligibility checks, rate limits, moderation windows and penalties. that could unlock anonymous reputation, sybil-resistant access, private voting and communities where privacy does not mean zero accountability. the question I find most interesting is the next step: can moderation itself become verifiable? can a censor prove that a flag followed a public policy, rather than an opaque discretionary judgment, without deanonymizing the user? stage 2 does not solve ux or adoption, but it makes aztec a meaningfully more credible environment for exploring this design space.
