OGAudit Web3 Research: @arbitrum $ARB - $18B in TVL, a Fresh All-Time Low and a Court Deciding Who Owns $71M in Frozen ETH. Arbitrum runs as four connected pieces, Arbitrum One (the flagship optimistic rollup, home to GMX, Aave, Uniswap and Pendle), Arbitrum Nova (a lower cost variant tuned for gaming), Orbit (a framework letting teams launch their own custom L2 or L3 chains) and Stylus (added September 2024, letting developers write contracts in Rust, C, or C++ alongside Solidity): - Orbit has grown into a genuine chain building business with 100+ live chains including Robinhood’s own L2 and infrastructure built by LG Electronics with each Orbit chain paying 10% of its fees back to the Arbitrum ecosystem and as of July 2025 that revenue was reportedly running around $2.2 million over a 30 day period with roughly 95% of fees retained after costs. - ARB is purely a governance token where holders vote on protocol upgrades, treasury allocations and Security Council elections but the token does not collect gas fees directly since all Arbitrum transactions are paid in ETH, this has left ARB without a direct revenue sharing mechanism even as the network itself generates real income from Orbit chains. - Team and investor tokens are unlocking on a rigid monthly schedule of roughly 90-100 million ARB through March 2027, following a large 1.1 billion token cliff unlock in March 2026, a structural multi year source of new supply that requires sustained demand just to hold price steady, independent of any network usage growth. Is holding the largest DeFi liquidity pool among Ethereum L2s, a genuine multi chain business model through Orbit and technical differentiation via Stylus enough to eventually decouple ARB’s price from its supply overhang or does a governance only token with no direct fee capture combined with monthly unlocks running for another year mean ARB stays structurally capped regardless of how much usage the network attracts?
