🚨 Amazon completed a $50 billion investment in OpenAI on July 31, one of the largest ever made in artificial intelligence. The company had already paid $15 billion earlier this year. The remaining $35 billion was contingent on conditions neither Amazon nor OpenAI have disclosed. Amazon has not explained what triggered the additional payment. The two companies have also expanded their cloud agreement by an additional $100 billion over eight years. OpenAI’s infrastructure costs are increasingly being settled with its own investor.
